Irina Horsia and Her Sculptural Painting

Having had the opportunity to experience such vast multi-cultural surroundings, Irina Horsia is a complex artist who knows how to bring together painting, sculpture and the graphic arts. What characterizes her work is the oscillation between plain surfaces and volume for the majority of her works, as well as the additional effects expressed by the white on white.

The mask appears as a leitmotiv of her creation. The natural shadows realized through a three-dimensional treatment, impersonal faces belonging to mythical ancestors, all resonate with the other elements applied on canvas completing them.

The references to the cultural heritage of humanity in the paintings do not stop at India, but also evoke the grand old age of sculpture and architecture.

Gifted with personality and originality, Irina Horsia is an artist who can create works with a great evocative force.
